DAS-8000 DATA ACQUISTION &
REPORTING Ducon
Model DAS-8000 is a comprehensive data management package that simplifies
the task of integrating the output from a emissions monitoring system
containing Ducon Codel analyzers, plus outputs from non Ducon analyzers.
This enables the data from diverse emissions monitors or other relevant
sensors to be collected together and then passed to a Central Communications
Unit (CCU) which then organizes the data before passing it to a p.c.
for logging or to a Output unit which converts it to an analogue format
for output to a plant DCS or SCADA system. Each
Ducon analyzer is equipped with a 2-way serial port which not only enables
information to be passed around the system, but also allows access by
a central computer. Secure communication over several miles via a simple
4 core wire data highway. Normalization data, gathered by simple plant
sensors for temperature, oxygen and pressure, is fed into the DAS-8000
system, from their analogue outputs. This data is then distributed to
all other relevant analyzers so that they then may normalize their output.
Additional plant data may be accessed by the system through the use
of the Input unit. Analog and contact outputs are available from each
analyzer; the DAS-8000 system can generate analog data at any point
via a separate Output unit. The
CCU manages the data highway and can communicate with a p.c. via it's
RS232c output. Most operators use a p.c. which is operating DAS-8000
for Windows software and has access to a modem. IEM for Windows is a
superb package which enables a the
